Song Title: Stickin' It 1:24Under an umbrella of leadership and inspiration from Soli Hughes, my experience was a big stepping stone in my musical career. Being able to spend every day with a professional with such credentials who is still active in the music community is a priceless experience. Between the artistry and life lessons, it really gave me a glimpse deeper into what the real world is like in the music industry. It prepared me for and propelled me into the next phase of my life, which was Berklee College of Music.
Minnesota-born JP Bouvet has been behind the drums since he was 9. During his teenage years, his studies in jazz, growing love for pit orchestra performance, and his progressive-rock-filled upbringing made him a sought out drummer for gigs of all sorts. He established himself in several well known groups and was on call to sub in the most well known big bands in the area. He lead the fusion group, The Penguins, for several years, gaining a large following and heavy performance schedule. He could be seen playing full time or subbing in groups like the Minnesota Jazz Orchestra, Good News Big Band, Paula Lammers and Cloud Nine, Minnesota Youth Jazz Orchestra, and several others. On a generous scholarship, JP is currently at Berklee College of Music studying performance, composition, and business. In his 4 semesters thus far he has logged over 100 hours in the studio. He took 3rd place in the nation wide Roland V-Drum Drum Competition in 2010, and, after his second year performing at NAMM, was invited to be a guest artist on Jovan Dawkin's upcoming educational drum DVD.
In his second semester, he was invited as one of five of Berklee's top drummers to play on the "Berklee Chops vol. 1" DVD. In Boston, he is playing with several innovative groups, including the fusion group, The Super Pilots, prog-rock band, Helicopria, and with several other projects and artists. Always challenging himself, seeking opportunity, and pushing his and his bandmates' boundaries, JP is working hard and loving what he's doing.

Song Title: A Dream 2:43Working with Soli has really impacted my life. I have learned many things about music, performing, and the music business from him. In addition, with Soli, I've been able to get better at my song-writing abilities, and my overall ability to effectively communicate with other musicians to create new music.
Right now, I am in the process of recording my first CD. I have had the great opportunity of collaborating with Soli to write the songs that will be on the CD. I look forward for the CD's completion, performing my new songs for others, and simply being able to share my music with everyone.

Song Title: Into The Light 2:01I am currently the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, composer, manager and leader of the metal-core band Breaking Day. Breaking Day is located in Minneapolis, MN. We recently finished a 3 song demo, recorded at Back Alley Studios, which I helped mix and produce. My duties include, but are not limited to, conducting practices, booking shows, contacting venues and finding opportunities for the group.
I'm also the lead guitarist for the gospel group D.F.Y (Deliverance For Youth), also located in Minneapolis, MN. D.F.Y. recently finished their first full length live recorded CD, recorded on January 29th, 2010 at Shiloh Temple in Minneapolis. Recently D.F.Y. held a release concert on January 29th, 2011 at Shiloh Temple as well.
The most important thing that I got from working with Soli is the experience of being in a recording studio, and knowing how to work with recording engineers and other musicians in a recording environment. I've been in a recording studio 3 times since then and that first experience has really helped quell my nervousness.
I am now more knowledgeable about what needs to happen to get a recording done and how to work with other musicians, which has been vital to working with the two groups that I am currently in. Above all, I have Soli to thank for being the start of my music career.

Song Title: Torrent – 1st Movement 2:22I am a student at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, set to graduate this May with a degree in Animation. After graduation I plan to work on various personal projects in music, comic art and animation. Working with Soli in the music mentoring program improved my musical skills a great amount and gave me valuable experience in working together with others on a musical endeavor, and these learnings were and will continue to be very valuable in the years to come!

Song Title: Visually Addicted 1:45Recently I have been working with Karen Lyu to improve my singing and technical skills. I've had performances at Inver Grove Heights Middle School, Palm Court Restaurant, and outdoor concerts in the city of St. Paul, MN.
I also played the role of "Pat" in the production of The Pajama Game at Simley High School in 2008 and performed in the play "The Attempted Murder Of Peggy Sweetwater."
I have found working with Soli an eye opening experience that has helped me fine tune my skills as a vocalist, increase my stage presence/confidence and has made me much more knowledgeable about music as a business.
Currently I am working on developing material towards a CD project that will consist of original material for future release. I continue to embrace music everyday and every way.

My experience working with Soli Hughes was phenomenal. Working as a music apprentice under Soli Hughes, I learned to improvise, compose, and perform music.
I've also gained confidence to express my thoughts and ideas through music. Soli's bright personality, continuous support, and talent is a treasure, and I am truly thankful that I"ve had the opportunity to work with him.
Currently I'm a freshman in college, pursuing a clinical laboratory science major.
